Sylvia Megret
Chief Operating Officer, ACDI/VOCA
Strategic and resourceful management, operations, and business development executive with over 25 years of experience working with mission-driven organizations supporting international development projects worldwide. Ms. Megret brings proven expertise in convening and building successful teams working across borders and time zones. She is skilled in the conceptualization and institutionalization of innovative business systems, enhancing efficiency and continuous process improvement, and team leadership. Ms. Megret is recognized as problem-solver, mentor to staff at all levels, and thought-leader in the development of organizational systems and high-functioning teams.
From December 2017 until June 2018, Sylvia has served as Interim President and CEO at ACDI/VOCA and Acting Chair of the Tanager Board of Directors. She has also held the position of COO of ACDI/VOCA since 2016. She previously held several other senior leadership positions in the international development field including Vice President of Corporate Development (IRG), Vice President of Business Development and Communications (URC), and Managing Director for Client Services (Cardno Emerging Markets).
Ms. Megret earned her M.A. in International Development from American University and a B.A. in Political Science and French from the University of Michigan. Her work has brought her to nearly 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. She is fluent in French.
